IND vs BAN: India will take on Bangladesh in the second test match at Shere Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka, after winning the first game by 188 runs. KL Rahul led the team in the absence of Rohit Sharma, and Cheteshwar Pujara was the vice-captain. Rohit, who suffered a thumb injury in the second ODI against Bangladesh on December 7, was ruled out of the second test as well, after missing the first game.
However, another injury is scaring the Indian team now, and this time it is related to stand-in skipper KL Rahul. The 30-year-old got hit on his hand on Wednesday while doing a net practice during a throwdown. However, there is no official confirmation by the BCCI on how severe the injury is.
IND vs BAN: India’s batting coach Vikram Rathour gives update on Rahul’s injury

Rahul was hit on his hand, and later he was seen rubbing the hit area. The medical team also supervised the stand-in captain, and any news is yet to come. However, Vikram Rathour, the batting coach who was giving Rahul the throwdown, updated that the injury is not serious, but nothing can be said until the medical team examines it. When asked about Rohit’s injury by the media, Rathour said,
“Doesn’t look serious”. “He (Rahul) seems to be fine. Hopefully he’ll be okay. The doctors are looking at it, but hopefully he’ll be okay.”
It will be a massive setback for India if Rahul gets injured. The Indian team is already struggling with so many injuries, and Rahul could add to that list. India is already missing key players like Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, and Ravindra Jadeja, while Rohit is also not part of the series. The second game is scheduled to start at 9 a.m. IST at the Shere Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka, on Thursday. India need this win to prove their contention for the World Test Championship final. After a win in the last game, they have moved up to second place, and a win in the second game will firm up their position.
