In the second innings, India restricted the hosts to 88/3 in 19.5 overs, but then came an incredible match-winning partnership of 221 runs between Tom Latham and skipper Kane Williamson that helped the Kiwis chase down the target in 47.1 overs, and they made 309/3. Williamson was unbeaten on 94 off 98, while Latham scored a brutal century of 145 runs off just 104 balls.

Umran ended up with a bowling figure of 2/66, dismissing Devon Conway (24) and Daryl Mitchell (11).
