Asia Cup 2022: The schedule for the most awaited edition of the Asia Cup 2022 has finally been announced. India will lock horns with Pakistan on Sunday, August 8 at Dubai International Stadium. Notably, the last time this tournament was played was in 2016. So, after a wait of almost six years, we will see top Asian teams competing against each other.
The secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Jay Shah, took to Twitter and shared the complete schedule. He also said that this is an ideal platform for all the Asian teams to get ready for the upcoming T20 World Cup.
Shah tweeted, “The wait is finally over as the battle for Asian supremacy commences on 27th August with the all-important final on 11th September. The 15th edition of the Asia Cup will serve as ideal preparation ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup.”
As per the schedule, India and Pakistan will start their campaign on August 28. This will be the first game between the two sides after their encounter in the 2021 T20 World Cup. Notably, India are the defending champions of the Asia Cup, having won the tournament in 2014 and 2016, respectively.
When will the Asia Cup 2022 start?
The 15th edition of the Asia Cup will start on August 27th, Saturday with a match between Sri Lanka and Afghanistan at Dubai International Stadium.
