Rahmanullah Gurbaz made 60 runs off 49 balls with four boundaries and four sixes, while Ibrahim Zadran scored 51 runs off 48 balls with six fours. But as soon as that partnership was broken, the Afghanistan cricket team lost a few quick wickets.

They managed a total of 148/6 in the 20 overs. Chasing the score, Australia had a horrible start when Travis Head got out for a three-ball duck. Australia kept losing wickets, got all out for just 127 runs in 19.2 overs, and lost a crucial match. With this, Australia will have to win their last game.

Afghans got two points on the board. Now they have a bright chance in the semis. For that, they need to win their last Super 8 match against Bangladesh on Monday. With that, they will end up with four points. Then, they should hope that Australia lose to India. In this manner, Afghans will go through. After this match, every team in Group 1 is still alive.
