IND vs SL: Team India will travel to Sri Lanka for the white-ball series. These two teams will play six matches (3 ODIs and 3 T20Is). The IND vs. SL tour will begin with the three T20Is on July 27, and the ODI series will start on August 2. All three T20Is will be played at Pallekele International Stadium, while all ODI matches will take place at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
The IND vs. SL will be the first tour for Gautam Gambhir as the head coach of the table. On Thursday, the Indian selection committee finally announced the squad for the two series. The announcement has come with a number of surprises, and the biggest one is the captaincy choice for T20Is.
IND vs. SL: Suryakumar Yadav becomes T20I captain, while Shubman Gill is the vice captain for both formats.
As expected, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are back for the IND vs. SL ODI series, but Shubman Gill has been given the responsibility of vice captain. Gill is also vice captain in T20Is, and Suryakumar Yadav is the new T20I captain despite Hardik Pandya’s availability. The ODI series saw the return of KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer, while Rishabh Pant also got his chance.
Khaleel Ahmed, Riyan Parag, and Harshit Rana have gotten their maiden ODI calls. In T20Is, Abhishek Sharma and Ruturaj Gaikwad have been dropped. Riyan Parag, Washington Sundar, Shivam Dube, Axar Patel, and Mohammed Siraj have made it to both teams.
