Sarafaraz Khan of Mumbai has struck an excellent century in the ongoing Ranji Trophy of 2021-23, just a few days after he was ignored by the Indian selection committee. Mumbai is taking on Delhi at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. After winning the toss, Delhi put Mumbai in to bat first. Mumbai didn’t have a great start and lost their first four wickets for just 66 runs.
It brought Sarfaraz Khan to the crease, and he, along with a few other batters, took his team to a decent score. In the process, the 25-year-old scored his 13th first-class century of the season. He scored 125 runs off 155, including 16 fours and four sixes. Sarfaraz took on the bowling when required and also rotated the strike regularly.
Twitter reacts after Sarfaraz Khan scored another first-class century
Sarfaraz has been performing brilliantly at the domestic level and was one of the contenders for a place in the Indian team for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy match against Australia. The BCCI selected the squads for the first two tests, and Sarfaraz was not part of them.
Later, the 25-year-old broke his silence and admitted that he was very upset about his exclusion. However, he has carried on his form and scored yet another century. And with his century, the Indian fans also lauded the 25-year-old, while some fans slammed the BCCI for not giving him a chance in the team despite his consistent performances.
