Most wickets in T20: The 8th edition of the T20 World Cup is about to start in Australia within two weeks’ time. The WT20 will begin, when Sri Lanka will take on Namibia on October 16. A total of 16 teams will take part in the competition, like in the last edition in the UAE.
The first round will see eight teams playing the qualifying round to grab the four remaining places in the “Super 12”. So far, in seven editions, many superstars across the globe have showcased their skills. But because it is the biggest stage in cricket, pressure is always high.

5. Ish Sodhi (New Zealand)
New Zealand leg-spinner Ish Sodhi is fifth on the list with 99 wickets. Sodhi has been a regular member of the New Zealand white-ball team and is a consistent performer. He has played 76 games and taken 99 wickets at an economy rate of 8.02. Sodhi has also taken three four-wicket hauls with a best figure of 4/28.
4. Lasith Malinga (Sri Lanka)
The man who led Sri Lanka to lift their maiden T20 title in 2014 is third on the list. Lasith Malinga was arguably the best T20 bowler that the game had ever seen. He ended his career among the top wicket-takers in the game. He has played 84 games and taken 107 wickets at an economy rate of 7.42 with a best figure of 5/6.
4. Tim Southee (New Zealand)
Another New Zealand bowler on the list. Veteran pacer Tim Southee makes third in the list of highest wicket-taker in T20Is. He has played 95 games for New Zealand and picked up 114 wickets at an economy rate of 8.25. Southee has also picked up one fifer and one four-wicket haul as well.
2. Rashid Khan (Afghanistan)
When it comes to T20 cricket, there is one bowler who always stands out, and he is none other than Afghanistan star leg-spinner Rashid Khan. Rashid has been the best bowler in the shorter format as compared to his competitors. He can bowl in any situation of the match and is an attacking option for his team. Rashid has picked up 118 wickets in 71 games at an economy rate of 6.24. He also has two fifers and four four-wicket hauls to his name.
1. Shakib Al Hasan (Bangladesh)- Most Wickets in T20
One of the greatest all-rounders across all three formats Shakib Al Hasan is the leading wicket-taker in the history of the T20 internationals. Shakib is a street-smart cricketer and certainly the best that his country has ever produced. He is at the top of the chart. Shakib has taken 122 wickets in 101 games at an economy rate of 6.67, including one fifer and five four-wicket hauls. His all-round ability makes him a valuable asset for any team.
