On Sunday, Pakistan lost the final of the T20 World Cup 2022 at the hands of England. Jos Buttler and his men won the match by five wickets with six balls to spare, chasing the target of 139. Ben Stokes and Sam Curran laid the foundation for the win. Stokes played a crucial unbeaten knock of 52* off 49 in a tricky chase, while Curran bowled a brilliant spell of 3/12 in four overs.
With this win, England won their second T20 World Cup title. On the other hand, it didn’t end well for Babar Azam and his team, as they lost yet another final. Notably, they also lost the Asia Cup 2022 final against Sri Lanka. Babar himself couldn’t do much with the bat in the entire competition apart from one half-century in the semi-final against New Zealand.
Fans of Babar Azam brutally trolled Mohammad Amir on Twitter
The loss in the final didn’t go well with former Pakistani cricketers and cricket pundits, and as usual, many urge the PCB to sack Babar Azam from the captaincy. One of the TV presenters, Shoaib Jatt, took to Twitter and posted an interesting question, asking who should be the next T20I captain of Pakistan.
To that, Mohammad Amir retweeted and picked Shadab Khan to be the next T20I captain of Pakistan. However, it didn’t end well with some of Babar’s fans, and Amir faced a huge backlash on Twitter, and some fans also called him a “fixer.”
