There is no doubt that Babar Azam is the best batsman in world cricket right now. The Pakistani skipper has been in the form of his life and is at the peak of his career. That is the reason that he is breaking records one after another and setting his own bar very high.

He has certainly made his name among the best in cricket. Not only with his own individual performance, he has led his side really well. A couple of days ago, the Men in Green whitewashed the West Indies 3-0 in the ODI series. Without a doubt, Babar was the second highest run-scorer with a century and a half-century.

With the ODI series win, Pakistan also jumped to the 4th spot in the latest ICC ODI team ranking. They have replaced their arch-rivals, India.

“Want to win both upcoming World Cups for Pakistan” – Babar Azam

The Men in Green had a great run in the last T20I World Cup in the UAE. They qualified for the semis of the tournament. And now the skipper has given a big statement for the coming World Cups. In an interview with AFP news agency, Babar said,

“When I started playing cricket, the target was to play for Pakistan and become the world’s top batter. I also wanted to win titles for my country.”

Notably, there are two ICC events coming up in the next 18 months. The T20I World Cup will be held in October in Australia this year. On the other hand, India will host the 2023 ODI World Cup next year. The Pakistani skipper also added that his dream was to play cricket for his country and become the best batsman in the world.

He also reckons that he still needs to learn something about finishing the game. Babar said, “I want to finish games for Pakistan and I am currently working on my finishing skills.”
