World Record Alert: N Jagadeesan’s 277-run innings in Vijay Hazare Trophy broke Rohit Sharma’s world record

And that game has given the world a few record-breaking moments. More importantly, it came from the bat of Tamil Nadu opener Narayan Jagadeesan, who went on to break some world records during his innings. Notably, the Vijay Hazare Trophy is the best one-day game tournament played in India, with a total of 28 teams taking part in it.

It stated that Arunachal Pradesh won the toss and chose to bowl first. N Jagadeesan continued his outstanding form, scoring a century off 76 balls.Notably, it was his fifth consecutive century in the ongoing tournament. He surpassed Sri Lanka’s legendary batter Kumar Sangakkara for four successive hundreds in a List A game, which he scored during the 2015 ODI World Cup.

He didn’t stop there and reached his second 100 off just 38 balls to reach the 200-run mark. In the end, N Jagadeesan scored 277 runs off 141 balls, including 15 sixes and 25 fours, to set the record for the highest individual score in a limited-overs match. He went past Rohit Sharma‘s 264-run innings, which he scored against Sri Lanka.

Jagadeesan is also the leading run scorer in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy 2022, with 799 runs in 6 games at an average of 159.8 and five centuries. He also set the record for most centuries in a single edition of the Vijay Hazare Trophy, going past Virat Kohli, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Prithvi Shaw, and Devdutt Padikkal, who all have four centuries in one season.
