IPL Auction 2023: “I’d love for him to save all of his energy for Australia”- Pat Cummins

Green, who impressed everyone with his power-hitting skills, showed them in the three-match T20I series in India in September ahead of the T20 World Cup. He emerged as the leading run-scorer with two cracking half-centuries, including an 18-ball fifty. He scored runs at an astonishing strike rate of 214.54. And some reports confirmed that he might be entering the IPL auction. In his latest interview with SEN Radio, Cummins said,

“Yeah potentially (Green will enter his name in the IPL auction). We’ll wait and see, I think the auction is a little while away. Selfishly as a captain, I’d love for him to save all of his energy for Australia. But how can you tell someone to say no to that kind of opportunity?”

The Australian skipper knows that it might be a life-changing opportunity for the young all-rounder. However, Cummins has decided not to take part in the next edition of the IPL due to its jam-packed schedule, as Australia is all set to play a total of 15 test matches, along with the 2023 ODI World Cup in India between October and November.
