IND vs PAK: The next edition of the Asia Cup in 2023 is scheduled to take place in Pakistan. That means that all the Asian teams will travel to Pakistan next year to feature in the tournament. This raises the question of whether the Indian team, which has not traveled to Pakistan since 2006/7, will play in Pakistan or not.

However, now the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Jay Shah has opened up in this regard. According to some media reports, at the 91st Annual General Meeting that took place on Tuesday in Mumbai, the decision was made that the AsiaCup 2023 will not be held in Pakistan. In fact, it will be held in a neutral place.

Shah said in an interaction, “Neutral venue for Asia Cup is not unprecedented and we have decided that we will not travel to Pakistan.”

Shah, who is also the president of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), further said that the decision to travel to Pakistan is in the hand of the government and that is why they can’t commit anything. Thus, the decision to host the AsiaCup 2023 at the neutral venue has been taken.

According to FTP, Pakistan is all set to schedule two big tournaments in the next three years. The AsiaCup 2023 (50-over) next year and the Champions Trophy in 2025. For some security reasons, Pakistan has been unable to host any big tournaments in the last decade. And this will be the first time that they host a big tournament. However, now it seems to be a bit difficult for them to host the Asia Cup next year.
