IND vs PAK: Pakistan held their nerves last night and ended up with a thumping win over arch rivals India. Chasing a big target, the Pakistani batting line-up kept hitting the boundaries every now and then and didn’t let the scoring rate go beyond their reach. In the end, with some lusty blows from Asif Ali (16 off 8), the Men in Green registered their most successful chase against India.
Once again, the anchor of the innings was the wicket-keeper batsman, Mohammad Rizwan. He took the match very deep and kept rotating the strike with an odd boundary here and there. He, along with Mohammad Nawaz, added a brilliant 73-run partnership off 41 balls for the third wicket.
Rizwan scored another half-century and made 71 runs off 51 balls with six fours and two sixes. Nawaz played a quick cameo of 42 off 20 balls with six fours and two sixes. In the end, Pakistan got over the line with five wickets in hand. But the concern for Pakistan is the injury to Rizwan.
Unfortunately, during the 15th over of the Indian innings, he injured his right leg while trying to stop a ball from going to the boundary. Mohammad Hasnain bowled a bouncer to Deepak Hooda, who missed the ball trying to hit a scope shot. The ball bounced very high and Rizwan jumped high but landed on his right leg awkwardly.

The wicket-keeper was seen in a lot of pain and the Pakistani physio came out to see him. Although, after a short break, he stood up and continued his wicket-keeping job and later played brilliantly with the bat as well. But as per the latest developments, Rizwan was taken to the hospital and he will have to undergo a precautionary MRI scan.
According to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), this MRI scan will be done to check the status of the injury to the wicket-keeper. The scan will be done today, September 5. Pakistan is already suffering from a lot of injuries, and a few players have already been ruled out of the ongoing Asia Cup 2022.
Before the tournament, Shaheen Afridi and Mohammad Wasim Jr. were ruled out due to injury. Then Shahnawaz Dahani didn’t feature on Sunday due to a fitness issue. And any kind of injury to Mohammad Rizwan could prove to be a disaster for Pakistan.
Because he is the in-form batter for them and is currently the leading run-scorer in the Asia Cup. On the other hand, Pakistan also don’t have any extra wicket-keepers in the squad. But as we know, Rizwan is a fighting character, so he will be there with the team.
