India women’s U19 World Cup: The history has been made, and January 29, 2023, will be recorded in the history books for India’s dominance in the women’s U19 T20 World Cup. Shafali Verma and her team beat England in the Women’s U19 World Cup final in Potchefstroom at the Senwes Park to become the inaugural champions. India’s U19 women’s team played fearless cricket throughout the tournament, including a comfortable win against New Zealand in the semi-final to make it to the final.

They met England, which also thrashed Australia in their respective semi-final matches. It started with India winning the toss and skipper Shefali Verma choosing to bowl first. They did a brilliant job and dismantled England for just 68 runs in 17.1 overs. Archana Devi, Parshavi Chopra, and Titas Sadhu picked up two wickets each and gave India the edge in the first inning itself.

India women’s U19 World Cup: It was very difficult for England to defend 68 runs against India’s strong batting attack. Although they defended 99 runs against Australia in the semi-final, this time it didn’t go their way. Chasing the target, India finished the job in 13.5 overs to become the first ever team to win the inaugural women’s U19 World Cup.

India registered a seven-wicket win in the final to write history. Team India remained undefeated in the tournament and also topped Group D, beating South Africa, the UAE, and Scotland. Indian fans were also happy that at least the Indian women’s team is doing what the men’s team is not able to do and praised them on Twitter.
