It was the first time more than 500 runs were scored in an IPL game. Earlier, the record for most runs in a T20 game was registered between South Africa and the West Indies, when the Proteas chased down 259 runs and scored a total of 517 runs in that game.
2. Most Sixes in an IPL Match
The SRH vs MI match saw both teams dealing mainly with boundaries. But this was one of the rare games where the sixes were hit more than the fours. SRH hit 18 sixes and 19 fours, while MI hit 20 sixes and 12 fours. A total of 38 sixes were hit in the game, and now it has seen the most sixes in an IPL game, surpassing the previous best of 33 sixes in the RCB vs. CSK game in 2018.
