IND vs ENG semi final: After winning four out of five group games, India reached the T20 World Cup 2022 semi-finals quite convincingly. But now, they will have to face arguably the strongest white-ball team in the world, England. The clash between India and England will take place on Thursday at the Adelaide Oval. And with the two strongest teams locking horns with each other, this game will surely be a high-voltage clash.
Indian skipper Rohit Sharma stated ahead of the semi-final that Team India is confident. Notably, India defeated England 2-1 in a three-match T20I series a few months ago. And Suryakumar Yadav was the star with the bat, with 171 runs in three games at a strike rate of over 200. SKY scored a magnificent century in the third T20I, chasing the target of 216 runs. He scored 117 runs off 55 balls, but India fell short by 17 runs in the end.
IND vs ENG Semi final: “We are confident against England” – Rohit Sharma
In the press conference ahead of the match against England, Rohit Sharma discussed India’s preparations for the game. He also spoke about the importance of the knockout game. Rohit said that performance in the knockout games is very important, but no one should rate any player on the basis of one or two games. Rohit further said,
We know the nature of T20 cricket, but beating England in England is a challenge that we overcame that, and that is going to give us confidence. Absolutely, it’s an opportunity for us to do what we wanted. We have done well in this tournament, we need to stick to what we are doing, trust what we have done so far.
The game will start at 1:30 p.m. as per Indian timing. Both teams have some good players who can win the game on their own. But it is just about the team, and those who can handle pressure well can go through. India will expect Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav to carry on their form.
